FAQs

Here are some answers to commonly asked questions. If you don't see your question here, please click the button below to contact us.

1. What is genealogy research?
Genealogy research involves tracing your family’s history and lineage through historical records, such as birth, death, marriage certificates, census records, military documents, and more. It’s a process of piecing together the stories of your ancestors to create a complete family tree.

2. How long does it take to complete a genealogy report?
The time it takes depends on the complexity of your family history and the research package you select. On average, a basic family tree may take 4-6 hours, while a more detailed family history can take 8-15+ hours. We’ll provide you with an estimated timeline based on your package.

3. Can I choose how many generations are researched?
Yes! Our research packages are customizable to fit your needs. Whether you're interested in just a few generations or want a deep dive into your ancestry, we can tailor the research to suit your goals.

4. What happens if there isn’t much information available?
Genealogy research relies on public records and historical documents, which may not always be available or easy to access. While we make every effort to gather as much information as possible, there may be gaps. We will always keep you updated on our progress and present you with any findings, no matter how extensive or limited.

5. Are the findings guaranteed?
While we strive to provide thorough, accurate, and complete research, we cannot guarantee specific results due to the nature of public records and historical archives. Our research depends on the availability of information, and sometimes certain details are inaccessible.

6. Can you help with family DNA research?
Currently, we specialize in traditional genealogy research, which involves using historical records to trace family lines. DNA research is outside the scope of our services, but we can provide recommendations on how to approach genetic genealogy if you're interested.

7. Will I be able to share my family tree with others?
Absolutely! Once the research is complete, we provide you with a digital family tree that you can easily share. If you select a print package, you will receive a high-quality printed version as well.

8. Can I gift genealogy research to someone else?
Yes! Our services make a unique and meaningful gift for anniversaries, birthdays, or any occasion. You can purchase a gift certificate for one of our research packages, and the recipient can choose their preferred package and get started on their genealogical journey.

9. What if I have specific family members or locations I want researched?
We encourage you to provide as much information as possible during our initial consultation. If you have specific ancestors or locations you’d like us to focus on, we can tailor the research to suit your goals.

10. Do you offer refunds?
Because genealogy research involves the time and effort invested into locating and analyzing public records, we do not offer refunds. However, we ensure transparency throughout the process and will update you regularly on our findings. We also offer a free initial consultation to discuss your goals before any work begins.
